The TDO Sahara is a convection oven for fast and gentle deparaffining and drying of slides in the laboratory. From the outside, the TDO Sahara offers full frontal view into the drying chamber through the generous glass window. This gives the user full control over the current state of the slide inside at all times. A magnetic locking mechanism ensures that the warm air remains inside the device. This way, the temperature remains stable and the energy expenditure is not unnecessarily increased.
The TDO Sahara warms up to operating temperature in just about a minute. The drying times are set using a touch control element. The user can choose between a chosen drying time or continuous operation, which is particularly useful when a large number of samples is processed. Every specified drying cycle is followed by a cooling phase. Routine slide drying usually only takes a few minutes. The drying chamber offers space for up to 48 baskets with 30 microscope slides, distributed on two stainless steel grids. On the bottom of the drying chamber there is a drip tray for safely collecting dripping paraffin or other liquids. Both grids and the drip tray can be easily removed for cleaning. In addition to the magnetic locking mechanism that prevents fumes from escaping to the outside, an activated carbon filter helps to reduce the pollution of the laboratory air by solvent vapors that can arise inside the drying chamber during operation.
