The eCep complete system consists of a control unit and electrically heated forceps. Pointedly electronic heating of the tip of the forceps enables easy and safe placement of the tissue samples in the embedding mold during the embedding process. The heat melts the paraffin when it comes in contact with the forceps, and does not stick to the tip. Only the tip of the forceps is heated, the handle remains pleasantly cool.
The eCep is temperature controlled and emits a controlled heat between 65 °C and 68 °C, only at the tip. The handle remains pleasently to be held. This way, damage to the tissue is avoided, and the paraffin still melts off.
The forceps are also available separately without a control unit and with different tip sizes, e.g. can be used with the TES 99 dispenser unit. The control unit has two connections and can therefore be used by several users at the same time.
